EFINOR SEA CLEANER teams delivered a macro-waste cleaning and water purification vessel to the city of Antwerp in Belgium last week.
This is a vessel from the WASTE CLEANER range, a range of vessels from 6 to 9 metres. Built in aluminium, with a road gauge, they can be transported with a suitable trailer and have a single lifting point for easy launching.
They are mainly used in ports where waste accumulates, often along the quayside and in areas that are difficult to access. Their side rollers make it possible to work between ships, along purlins or docks. The Waste Cleaner is a real hoover for the surface of the water operated by one person.
The Waste Cleaner 83 is a clean-up vessel equipped, like all our vessels, with unique and innovative technology for the collection of solid and liquid floating waste, including hydrocarbons.
According to a report by L'ifremer, macro-waste is transported by three main factors: rivers, wind and marine currents. "The first two are sources at sea, the three act on their fate at sea.
Rivers are the main vector for the circulation of waste from inland to the coast. The continuous flow from upstream to downstream leads to an inevitable increase in macro-waste at river mouths, estuaries and deltas".
From a small corner of Brittany, France, high-performance teams with a passion for the sea and its environment create innovative vessels to clean up and decontaminate the seas and oceans.
