Commissioned for use by the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille (GPMM), the 100% electric pollution control vessel developed by EFINOR Sea Cleaner is fully in line with the strategy to decarbonize port activities.
After nearly two years of operation, the teams have embarked on a structured operational monitoring process in direct contact with users in order to capitalize on feedback from the field.
This approach aims to gain a better understanding of the actual operating constraints, everyday conditions of use, and operators' expectations in a complex and highly demanding port environment.
Data from operations confirm the effectiveness of the system.
In 2025, the ship collected around 90 m³ of plastic waste, or nearly 4.5 tons, representing the annual plastic consumption of a village of around 60 inhabitants, in addition to significant volumes of wood waste (around 70 tons). These results represent a direct contribution to preserving the quality of port waters and reducing floating pollution.
Beyond the volumes collected, this feedback allows us to evaluate:
• the suitability of the vessel for actual port use,
• the ergonomics of equipment for operators,
• the ship's energy performance and availability,
• adjustment requirements in terms of maintenance and operation.
Monitoring the ship is not limited to performance assessment. It is part of a process of continuous improvement, based on regular dialogue with the GPMM teams.
The lessons learned directly feed into technical considerations and future developments of the solutions developed by our teams.
This proximity to users enables:
• anticipate operational needs,
• optimize existing solutions,
• and to design ships that are increasingly adapted to the environmental and operational challenges faced by ports.
Through this project, EFINOR Sea Cleaner confirms its commitment to supporting its customers well beyond delivery, throughout the entire life cycle of their vessels.
This hands-on approach enhances the reliability of the equipment, operator satisfaction, and the credibility of the carbon-free marine pollution control solutions offered by the group.

EFINOR Groupe M shipyards will participate in EUROMARITIME, a major event for players in the maritime economy, which will be held from February 3 to 5.
On this occasion, the group will exhibit at the Normandie Maritime stand (Hall 1 – G83) and present its full range of expertise in workboat construction, environmental solutions, and naval engineering.
