World Maritime Day: the maritime sector plays a vital role.

On 30 September, we celebrated World Maritime Day as we do every year.

At the initiative of theIMO (International Maritime Organisation) and its 164 members, the aim of this day is to inform and raise awareness of the vital role played by the maritime sector.

The IMO is an organisation responsible for ensuring the safety and security of shipping and preventing pollution of the seas by ships. Since 2002, its motto has been:

"Safety, security and efficiency of navigation on clean oceans

The regulatory framework developed by the IMO covers all aspects of international shipping, including the design, construction, equipment, manning, operation and disposal of ships.

The maritime sector must remain safe, environmentally sound, energy efficient and secure.

In the year 2021 and against the backdrop of the continuing health crisis, the IMO is emphasising the importance of 'seafarers' who are at the heart of shipping today and tomorrow.

The EFINOR group, with its experience in the maritime sector for more than 30 years, contributes to the objectives of bodies/organisations such as the IMO.

Security

We build sturdy boats that always bring passengers and crew to safety.

The creation of different 'boat landings' in particular allows us to adapt to the needs of our customers (offshore wind, oil).

Through our subsidiary Efinor Sea Cleaner, we have developed multi-service clean-up vessels that have the advantage of being managed by a single operator. The operator is protected from any danger in the cockpit.

Efficiency

Our passenger vessels / Crew Transfer Vessels are also known for their speed of transport. Users can easily get to the various locations in the shortest possible time.

Our clean-up vessels can operate continuously thanks to our patented dual flow technology. Combined with another means of storage (towed barge, floating tank, tanker), they operate 24 hours a day!

Ecology

All the ships built by the Efinor Group are made of aluminium [an infinitely recyclable material] with the aim of increasing the percentage of recycled aluminium in each ship.

Our teams also participate in the preservation of the marine environment by developing clean-up boats capable of intervening in ports, rivers, seas and oceans thanks to the different ranges of Efinor Sea Cleaner boats: WasteCleaner - MultiCleaner - SpillCleaner.

Clean-up vessels for which we are also developing more environmentally friendly propulsion systems such as the WasteCleaner66E.
